Tiling
A 5 m banner on 127 cm material: panels cropped at real size with the flap on them.
Artwork wider than the material is cut into panels that fit, with the welding flap or sticker overlap already on each panel and seam marks that end up hidden. Upload, pick the material, save the file.
The problems it removes
- Cropping a billboard into strips by hand and getting the overlap wrong.
- A 40 mm sliver panel at the end of the roll.
- Installers not knowing which panel goes where.
Questions
- How big is the flap?
- 30 mm for welded banners and 15 mm for sticker or wallpaper, adjustable.
- Panel widths?
- Equal by default so seams sit evenly and there is never a sliver; full-width panels are an option.
